Launch M.S. Elective

Howdy folks!

These past few days have been really busy for us here at the Garden. We launched our elective class on Monday (and what a beautiful day it was to be outside!) and built a planter in which to hide our Food Digestor!

The students all showed great enthusiasm for the elective class, I am very excited to work with them in the following weeks! We have some great ideas that we would like to share with the students. This morning, the students planted Radishes and Cilantro. The students got to take into detail the various shapes of the seeds while learning the different parts of the seed packaging label, and how that information could be translated into the garden.

During the second part of our day we built a wooden planter box for some Rhubarb that John had donated. Right in the middle of this planter, we have a beautiful food digestor that we are hoping to fill with Cafeteria food scraps from the local high school.
We will be back on Thursday to finish another project, stay tuned!
